Another sunny, warm & windy evening for our second evening TT of the year. Chris Williams & Conor Guthrie, two new youngsters, both improved on last weeks times. Conor improved by a minute and a half to finish with an average speed just over 20mph and Chris improved by nearly three minutes, just outside the magical 20mph.

Alan was riding this week after missing last week with a tummy bug but was obviously still under par.

2008 / 2009 Membership is now due. The subs have remained the same as 2007 / 2008 at £15 for Senior membership. I will be sending out the membership forms via Email where appropriate this year, even if you have filled one out last year or in previous years we would prefer if you could fill one of the 08 forms out, as it has had to change a fair bit.

The first evening TT of the year had a sunny, warm & windy evening. We had two new youngsters riding their first timetrial and producing very good times. The start was delayed by 5 minutes as Simon had a puncture whilst warming up, which was good for Phil A as it gave him a few more minutes to recover from a fast ride, rushing to make the start time. The motor traffic was very light and none of the 10 riders had any problems.

This year we have a new course the D23/10, a proper 10 miler, starting on the A525 between Denbigh & Llanrheadr, turning at the roundabout outside Ruthin & finishing just before the Brookhouse mill.

The road surface is much better than on the Llandyrnog circuit & it does not climb the Wall!!! I rode round it last Wednesday (the Rhyl CC event had been cancelled) in 26'10", without pushing myself too hard.

As this is a new course the first rider to finish will set the course record & I expect to see it broken several more times in the 1st evening.

I have just spoken to Mel and he tells me there ride goes at
9:30 am Sunday 16 March from Denbigh Leisure centre.
There are 2 rides mainly in the lanes all signed 50 and 65 mile rides plenty of hills so if you fancy it get your selves along there, we could ride from the club at 8:30 as usual for a bit of a warm up.

As you may know we are running our Thursday night TT s on a new course this year as I was playing on track logs I thought I would map it out to see how hilly it was resulting map is attached.

First one is on May 1st so get training!

I have had the confirmed date and venue for this years club dinner and prizegiving.
The venue is the Faenol Fawr Hotel and the event will be held on Saturday 1st December 2007.
Tickets should be aroung the £20 mark.
I will confirm price and time as soon as I know for definate.
As everyone who has been before can remember, our social events are always a great success so we hope to repeat that again this year.
As per normal the annual dinner is very much a WAG friendly occassion, so bring your spouse, or indeed someone elses, if thats your thing ;)

A poor turn out from the VCM this week, while weather was not all that bad. Current thinking being tired riders, colds, people working. Many thanks to Andy the master of ceremonies.
